Freedom Academy on Whop is a crypto and money-mindset community run by Oto Gomes at whop.com/masterheart-circle. Its free tier is a low-cost way to see what he teaches, but two of its paid products carry claims we would treat as warning signs: a $10,000 "Inner Circle" whose headline says members can "make 15-20% monthly", and a $133 course titled "Taxes Are Voluntary". We have not joined, tested or used the community. Everything below comes from its public Whop page as listed on 10 October 2026.

Which Freedom Academy is this?

Several unrelated courses and organisations use the name Freedom Academy, so check the address. This review covers only the Whop community at whop.com/masterheart-circle, titled "FREEDOM ACADEMY" and created by Oto Gomes (Whop handle @otogomes). His Whop bio reads "Mentor & Founder of Crypto Freedom Academy", and the page's share image carries the Crypto Freedom Academy name. Nothing here describes any other programme called Freedom Academy.

What the page says it is

The community describes itself in one line: "Paths to INNERstanding Your Relationship to Money, Utilizing Blockchain, in the Private Sector to Build Generational Wealth". As listed on Whop on 10 October 2026, the page showed 1,958 people joined and a 4.9 rating from 34 reviews. Those reviews are written on Whop by people who joined; we cannot verify them, and 34 reviews is a small sample next to almost 2,000 members.

The creator links to YouTube, Instagram, X and Facebook accounts under his name. The community's public home feed showed no posts when we looked.

What it costs

The products tab of the Whop page listed six products on 10 October 2026. Prices are the default plan Whop displayed to us, in US dollars; your currency and the plans offered to you may differ.

Product (as titled on Whop)Price listedIts own headline
FREEDOM ACADEMY FREE ACCESSFree"While Everyone's Confused About 2027, Get Positioned"
"Taxes Are Voluntary" w/ Oto$133.00"Learn Tax Avoidance Loopholes Using LAW & Blockchain!"
CFA Ambassador Membership$154.00 / month"Create Your Path Today"
LEVEL 1:1 PRIVATE SESSIONS$900.00"1:1 Sessions w/ Oto"
LEVEL 2 - CRYPTO MADE EASY$997.00"Perspective Shift to become the casino, not gambler!"
LEVEL 4 - INNER CIRCLE$10,000.00"Build Private Crypto Freedom in 10 weeks, and make 15-20% monthly doing it."

The free tier gives access to a course called "LV1 - Crypto Made Easier", an "ACADEMY NOTICES" forum, a live-stream page, a podcast and a section of partner affiliate links. Every paid product is a step up from there, climbing from $133 to $10,000.

The red flags

A monthly return promise. The Inner Circle headline says members can "make 15-20% monthly". Compounded over a year, 15% a month is roughly a 435% return and 20% a month roughly 790%. Returns of that size are far beyond what regulated funds report, and regulators list promises of high, steady returns as a classic sign of fraud; the US Commodity Futures Trading Commission advisory we cover in our piece on AI crypto trading is one example. The page shows no audited record behind the figure.

"Taxes Are Voluntary". Paying the tax you owe is a legal obligation, not a choice. Legal tax planning exists, but the "voluntary" argument is not it. The US Internal Revenue Service's guide The Truth About Frivolous Tax Arguments lists "Payment of federal income tax is voluntary" among the frivolous contentions it answers, states that "The requirement to pay taxes is not voluntary", and explains the penalties courts may impose on people who pursue tax cases on frivolous grounds. That guide covers US federal tax only, so check the rules where you live. Our crypto tax guide sets out how crypto gains are actually taxed in several countries. For your own situation, speak to a qualified tax adviser before acting on any course.

Unexplained "Private Sector" language. The pitch talks about building wealth "in the Private Sector" without saying what that means. Ask exactly which legal structure is being proposed, and have an independent lawyer check it, before you pay for anything built on it.

A steep upsell ladder. A free entry tier that leads to $900, $997 and $10,000 products is a common sales funnel. That is not wrong in itself, but it means the free content also works as marketing for the paid tiers.

Who it might suit, and who should avoid it

If you are curious about the founder's views on money and blockchain, the free tier costs nothing but time, and you can judge his teaching before spending anything. Anyone looking for regulated financial or tax advice should look elsewhere: nothing on the page says the creator is authorised to give it.

Before paying for any trading or wealth community, run the checks in our guide to crypto trading signals and bots: ask for a track record you can verify, read the refund terms, and never send money to a platform a mentor recommends without checking its licence. To compare it with other crypto communities on the same marketplace, see our comparison of four crypto trading communities on Whop.

We have no affiliate link to Freedom Academy and earn nothing if you join it; none of the links in this review's text pays us. If you want to see the free tier for yourself, go to whop.com/masterheart-circle directly. The ads and community cards that the site shows around every article are separate affiliate placements, which is why the general disclosure banner still appears above.

Frequently asked questions

Is Freedom Academy on Whop legit? It is a real, active listing on Whop, with 1,958 people joined as listed on 10 October 2026. Whether it is worth your money is a separate question: its $10,000 tier promises "15-20% monthly" and one course is titled "Taxes Are Voluntary", both claims we would treat as warning signs.

How much does Freedom Academy cost? As listed on Whop on 10 October 2026, there is a free tier and paid products at $133, $154 a month, $900, $997 and $10,000. Prices were shown in US dollars and may differ in your currency.

Who runs Freedom Academy on Whop? The page at whop.com/masterheart-circle was created by Oto Gomes, whose Whop bio calls him "Mentor & Founder of Crypto Freedom Academy". It is not the same as other organisations that use the Freedom Academy name.

Can you really make 15-20% a month? Nothing on the page backs the figure with an audited record. Compounded, it would mean several hundred per cent a year, which is why regulators treat promises of high, steady returns as a red flag. Past results, even real ones, do not predict future results.

How do I cancel or get a refund? The community page does not set out cancellation or refund terms, so read the terms shown at checkout before paying. Four of the five paid products are listed without a monthly period, so treat them as single payments rather than subscriptions you can stop.

The bottom line

The free tier lets you judge Oto Gomes's teaching at no cost. The paid tiers lean on a monthly return promise and a tax claim that we would treat as warning signs, so we would not pay for them on the strength of the sales page. Understand crypto volatility and risk before putting money into any crypto strategy, from any mentor.
